Statistics of Persons with Disabilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

According to data published by the Authority for Persons with Disabilities, based on the Saudi Census 2022, the number of persons with disabilities and functional difficulties in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reached 1,349,585 individuals, representing 5.9% of the total population of 32,175,224.

  • Mobility Disabilities: 304,787 individuals

  • Visual Disabilities: 181,728 individuals

  • Hearing Disabilities: 84,025 individuals

  • Communication Difficulties: 196,611 individuals

  • Self-Care Difficulties: 157,977 individuals

  • Memory and Concentration Difficulties: 130,820 individuals

  • Other Physical Difficulties: 293,637 individuals

Additional Statistics

  • Individuals aged 15–59 years represent approximately 76% of the total population of persons with disabilities in the Kingdom.

  • The Riyadh Region records the highest number of persons with disabilities among all regions of Saudi Arabia.
